Our Mission Statement
Our organisation is a volunteer-led charity dedicated to supporting the health, wellbeing, and resilience of residents across Scholes, Cleckheaton, and the wider Kirklees area. Operating entirely through the commitment of local volunteers, we provide an inclusive, community-owned space that addresses social isolation, vulnerability, and access barriers in a semi-rural area where services can be limited.
The core focus of our work is to strengthen local resilience by offering a welcoming environment where residents particularly older people, children, families, low-income households, and those at risk of loneliness can access support, practical resources, and opportunities to connect.
To achieve this mission, we plan and deliver responsive, community-rooted programmes including community drop-in sessions, social groups, informal peer support networks, and children’s activity groups. Through these volunteer-led initiatives, we provide practical assistance, companionship, safe play opportunities, and a warm space during colder months for those experiencing fuel poverty.
